About the Author
Frederick W. Kagan is a military historian who has taught at West
Point, and is now Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute
specializing in defense issues and the American military.  He is a
contributing editor to
The Weekly Standard and co-editor of The Yale
Library of Military History series at the Yale University Press. His other
